Description

Mr. Nice Guy was a performance experiment at the decidedly "outrageous" DADAFEST, which is typically (perhaps stereotypically) San Franciscan. There's a status quo everywhere - in this particular milieu, the status quo has a unique flavor. Nudity abounds, sex on stage, rotten performances, scatology - these are the standards of the evening. My piece in a way was a reaction against the status quo - I created a character so excessively NICE - which, in context, seemed to be the "unconventional" approach. Shown are snapshots of a few of these interactions. I was "in character", which people either did or did not figure out. I was followed by an entourage (one photographer, one videographer, and two helpers who handed out cards documenting the interaction).
